Packaging

How do I know that my purchase will be safely packaged?

care and attention go into preparing your purchase for shipping. To help ensure a safe trip, your purchase will be wrapped in tissue paper, placed in a jewelry gift box and mailed in a weather resistant padded mailer.

Do you gift wrap?

we don't wrap packages in gift wrap, however, we do use jewelry gift boxes to ensure safe shipment of your items and can also add a decorative ribbon to the gift box if requested.

When your package arrives

Please keep your packing materials until you have examined your purchase to ensure that no rhinestones have fallen out or become dislodged during the rigors of shipping. Rhinestones and cabochons in vintage jewelry are generally held in place with either prong type settings or glue. The glue can become brittle over time causing stones to loosen and fall out. This can happen during shipping or normal and gentle wear of the piece. If a stone falls out, a tiny dab of jewelry glue on a toothpick placed in the setting is the best approach for repair. Some types of glue that are recommended are GS Hypo cement, E6000, or 527 glue; check the packaging for use with jewelry.

Vintage necklaces were often strung with several fine strands of cotton strings that stretch out and weaken with age. While every effort is made to ensure that your purchase is securely shipped, strands of beads can sometimes break loose during shipping so be sure to carefully remove your beaded necklace from its package. Placing a terry cloth towel under your jewelry box while removing the necklace from the jewelry shipping box can be a life saver if a strand of beads suddenly breaks loose.
